Moab Workload Manager® for Grids Overview

Moab Workload Manager® for Grids is a policy-based workload management and scheduling engine that schedules across multiple clusters. Moab optimizes data staging and seamlessly integrates with existing security mechanisms or with grid security tool kits such as Globus. It decreases grid adoption barriers by giving sites the extensive control over ownership-based access, priority and service levels to make the grid politically acceptable, the fine-tuned control over their workload and resources to make the grid usable, and is priced in such a way that makes grids affordable.

Moab Workload Manager for Grids can be applied to a broad set of environments and is able to unify management across multiple clusters of heterogeneous hardware, operating systems, and resource managers. It contains all the functionality of Moab Workload Manager but with additional capabilities.

Moab Workload Manager for Grids documentation is integrated with Moab Workload Manager's documentation. Both products use the same code base, with the grid capabilities being enabled when a grid license key is used as opposed to a cluster license key. As a result, Moab Workload Manager for Grids has all of the cluster capabilities as well as the added grid capabilities.
